Black Testament

Saint Sebastian The Slave“Black Testament,” features the most recent work of recent UCCS graduate Dáreece Walker. Using mixed media on found/recycled cardboard and wood, the exhibit deals with issues of the black human experience as it relates to contemporary America and its history. The artist uses found/recycled cardboard and wood as a subtle metaphor for products of industry, qualities of being cheap or disposable, and forgotten history.

The eighth grade class from Manitou Springs Middle School has just finished a book, It’s Manitou’s Business, that showcases local businesses. Each student researched a local business and interviewed them about what makes their firm unique.
